Barbican International Jazz and Blues Festival 2011


The Barbican International Jazz and Blues Festival takes place on Plymouth's Barbican from Friday 29th April until Monday 2nd May 2011.

Line-up

Friday: Lipson Big Band, The Blow-Up, Used Notes, Jelly Roll, Becky Brine, T J Johnson, Martin Dale, Mama Tokus,Dirty Harmonies.

Saturday: Community Choir, Jack Blackman, Half Quartet,Benny 'Guitar' Carr and the Hot Rats, Fitz & Cara, Porkchop, Jazz Lounge, Becca Langsford Band, Cuba Night.

Sunday: Ivybridge Community College Band Big Band, Company B, The Roosters, Helen Maughan, (Neil Maya's) The Drat Pack, Metropolitan Swing Quartet, The Swing Empire, Tony Harris Quartet, Michael Roach, Hamer & Isaacs, Joe Stilgoe.

Monday: The Lounge Directive, Nadine Mortimer-Smith, Jerri Hart, Grand Festival Jazz Parade, Roger Marks and the Armada Jazz Band, Louise Parker, Will McNicol, Fitz & Cara, Riotjazz, Barebones Music, Wille and the Bandits.

Tickets

A weekend Stroller wristband is priced at £40 each, giving unlimited access to the Festival Marquee every day and evening of the Festival. A half-Day Stroller ticket is priced at £10 and gived access to the Festival Marquee daily either from 11am to 7pm, or from 7pm until 11pm. There will also be a limited number of tickets for each marquee gig, priced at £6, on sale at the marquee entrance just before each gig. Tickets are not yet on sale. Stroller tickets will be available for sale from the Barbican Tourist Information Centre in the run-up to the Festival.

Other events

The festival will also host a Jazz parade, Jazz market and Swing Sunday.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
