AEG Live revealed as new tenders for Hyde Park events

The Royal Parks have revealed that AEG Live, one of the world's leading entertainment and sports presenters will be their partners in a new five year deal to produce a new event in Hyde Park from next summer.

Promoters AEG Live will work with The Royal Parks to deliver six summer concerts each year, expected to be in the format of two weekends (Friday to Sunday) in a new format developed exclusively for Hyde Park. Details of which will be announced in the future.

Chief Executive of The Royal Parks, Linda Lennon CBE, said, "Hyde Park has a successful track record of hosting popular large music events. The Royal Parks is excited to be working with AEG Live on developing a new innovative and exciting world class summer concert series, which will provide entertainment while minimising the impact on the park and the local community."

The partnership between The Royal Parks and AEG Live will see the two organisations work closely together to agree the final look and feel for the concerts, as well as which acts will be performing.

AEG Live deal with all aspects of live contemporary music performance, including concert touring, music festivals and special events. In the UK and Europe, the current and recent concert tour roster includes artists such as Bon Jovi, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez and Leonard Cohen. AEG Live rosta of music festivals, includes Scotland's RockNess, and American events Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach Country Music Festival, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, as well as venues Hammersmith Apollo and the IndigO2.

President, International Touring for AEG Live, Rob Hallett added, "While Hyde Park has traditionally attracted high calibre artists, our plans for reinvigorating the venue with a fresh and innovative new event already have the artist community very excited. I look forward to bringing the world's premier headlining talent to our pioneering new London festival."

The income received by The Royal Parks from the concerts will be used to maintain and manage all eight Royal Parks across London inmcludidng Bushy Park, The Green Park, Greenwich Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Richmond Park and St James's Park. The Royal Parks also manages Victoria Tower Gardens, Brompton Cemetery, Grosvenor Square Gardens and the gardens of 10, 11 and 12 Downing Street.

Expect a Bon Jovi show to be one of the events which will be put on next summer.

Live Nation, which has staged concerts and festivals in the London park for over ten years, and runs the festivals which used to be held in Hyde Park Wireless and Hard Rock Calling say they are currently seeking new venues to host these events.
