Former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft has been revealed as the Sunday headliner for new outdoor three-day live music festival Wasteland will which will take place at Spillers Wharf, Newcastle over the weekend of Friday 12th to Sunday 14th July 2019.
Speaking about today's announcement, SSD Concerts' Steve Davis said: "Richard Ashcroft is part of the UK's musical DNA. A true genius. He's a British icon and has provided the soundtrack to some many people's lives since bursting onto the scene with The Verve in the 1990s. We're so lucky to have him for Wasteland and we couldn't think of a better artist to bring the party to a close. We're not finished yet though. There'll be yet more great bands to be announced very soon as part of this amazing three-day event on The Tyne."
Headlining on the Friday are indie icons Bloc Party, performing their debut album 'Silent Alarm' and more, and on the Saturday is Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, with more to be announced for each day.
Richard Ashcroft tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday 15th March priced at £45. Tickets are on sale for Bloc Party priced at £37.50, and Frank Turner priced at £39.50.
