New festival TexFest which happens at Market Harborough Showground, Leicestershire from Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July 2018. has announced sporting and family activities.

Providing additional activities across the weekend will be Leicester City Football Club, Leicester Riders and Northampton Saints Rugby Club, who will each be pitching up at the festival site to run community activities, competitions and family fun.

Take the time to shoot from the penalty spot with Leicester City, or stop for a selfie with Filbert Fox. Is your youngster a keen aspiring footballer? They’ll also be able to take part in a skills workshop over the weekend. If rugby is more your thing then Northampton Saints will be on hand with their tag rugby games and Kick Pass Run challenge, or head over to the Leicester Riders area to shoot some hoops and learn more about the British Basketball League Champions.

Away from the sports, there'll be storytelling for the little ones, as well as a large on-site fun fair from Billy Bates Funfair, with rides to suit a variety of ages, as well as bouncy castles for the smaller festivalgoers.

Texfest are also taking care to ensure that all visitors are well catered for with a range of food traders across both the festival site and camping areas, with traders including vegetarian and vegan options. Thirst is covered with a number of cash bars on site offering beer, wine and cocktails.

Texfest is being headlined by chart-topper Example and indie stars The Fratellis, with other weekend performances coming from the likes of We Are Scientists, Will Varley, Tinchy Stryder, Beans on Toast, The Hoosiers, Reggie & Bollie, Lewis Watson, The South, Nick Grimshaw and whole host of local talent. Recent announcements ahve included up and coming artists Superevolver, Gazelle, The Shrives, Magician’s Nephew, Traps, Mellow, Carl & The Red Mafia, Tom Bem and Matthew R. Not just about the Main Stage action, for dance music fans the festival will also be welcoming Nick Jennings who will be running an on-site Drum n Bass bus all weekend. Tickets are on sale, currently priced at £70 for an adult for the weekend (full price £120), with camping priced at £30 extra. Day tickets are also available, priced at £50 for either of Saturday or Sunday.
