British Summer Time which takes place in  Hyde Park, London during July has announced its FREE 'OPEN HOUSE' programme that happens on Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th July 2018.

Events and activities include Themed Movie Nights, Live Music and Entertainment, Street Food, Pop Up Bars, Tennis Screenings, Aerial Circus, Comedy Bingo, Family Theatre, The Royal Parks Showcase, Birra Moretti Presents Gran Tour, and more.

FREE OUTDOOR CINEMA / MONDAY-THURSDAY (5.30PM AND 8.30PM)

There's four evenings of themed movie nights. Two films will be shown each evening at 5.30pm and 8.30pm. Entry is free on a first-come-first-served basis, with a 2000 capacity! Headphones are provided.

There's Wimbledon Championship screenings from 12pm onwards, just bring a picnic blanket, grab a spot on the grass and you're ready to catch all of the action.

FREE LIVE MUSIC @ THE BARCLAYCARD STAGE / MONDAY-THURSDAY (4PM - 10.30PM)

Monday 9th July - Mister Kanish, Daytoner
Kicking off the festivities and new to OPEN HOUSE is Mister Kanish, a band who mix 90s style hip-hop with Mumford and Sons folk, UK garage with rock riffage. An unstoppable force on the party scene since 2008 smashing sets all over the UK with their unique arrangements of all your favourite songs.
Up next, Daytoner's 6 piece line-up of baritone & tenor sax, flute, keys, bass, drums and DJ, fronted by the soul powerhouse that is Lucy Richards always fills the dance floor.

Tuesday 10th July - Freddie & Freeloaders, London Gay Big Band
Freddie & Freeloaders have achieved national acclaim for their live shows and interpretation of golden era Soul & Motown modern soulful dance and pop classics. 
BST Hyde Park is delighted to welcome back the London Gay Big Band to OPEN HOUSE. The band, founded in the summer of 2011, is a sensational twenty piece jazz orchestra made up of predominantly - but not exclusively - LGBT musicians and vocalists. They'll be bringing their fresh and fabulous vibe back to the midweek festivities!

Wednesday 11th July - London Gay Men's Chorus, Temple Funk Collective
Britain's biggest boy band, The London Gay Men's Chorus return for a fourth year to entertain and inspire through their diverse and impressive repertoire. With music including Britney Spears, Rag'n'Bone Man and Eric Whitacre, gems by Sondheim and Sia and vibrant settings of work from Brel to Björk, the concert promises to be another unique LGMC experience in Hyde Park.
Temple Funk Collective are new to British Summer Time Hyde Park. The New Orleans-style 8-piece brass band riot take their lead from Louisiana legends, adding gypsy, jungle and hip hop. With a rapidly growing fan base they are becoming one of the UKs top New Orleans Brass Bands now mixing upbeat originals into a set of classic covers, with both clever and cheeky arrangements Temple Funk are a band you can watch over and over again and still spot something new.

Thursday 12th July - House Gospel Choir, Old Dirty Brasstards
Also new to the midweek festivities is the House Gospel Choir. Even when the midweek is drawing to a close, there will be no slowing down with HGC's electrifying House meets Gospel experience that never fails to get audiences singing, dancing and raving along!
Old Dirty Brasstards are a 10-piece drum and brass outfit made up of some of London's top freelance Brass and percussion musicians, playing an eclectic mix of tunes from the Beatles through to Lady Gaga and Basement Jaxx by way of En Vogue. ODB aims are quite simple; to leave audiences smiling, singing and make them dance - get ready, Hyde Park!

FREE COMEDY BINGO WITH BOGAN BINGO & HIP HOP BINGO @ CARNIVAL STAGE / MONDAY-THURSDAY (7.45PM-8.45PM)

Strap in and prepare to experience the simmering chaos of the comedy gameshow, Bogan Bingo. An undeniably unique night of entertainment mixing classic 80s anthems, spectacular prizes, appalling choreography and two mulleted Aussie bingo callers - all tentatively held together by an eye watering version of the classic game of bingo.

Forget everything you know about bingo, as The Carnival Stage will also be bringing you Hip Hop Bingo! Hosted by the charming New Yorker Grandma Flash and her 87 year old lover, they call the numbers and drop the beats old school style in this brilliantly fun night out.
Expect phat prizes, lip sync battles, dance offs and gold plated everything all wrapped up in a night of bingo, breakin' and booty shakin'.

STREET FOOD MARKET AND POP UP BARS / MONDAY-THURSDAY (12PM - 10PM)

Whether you are a pizza lover, prefer a sushi wrap or have a sweet tooth for a chocolate brownie, the OPEN HOUSE street food market has it all. You will be spoilt for choice with the finest traders on offer all week long. You can also cool off in the summer sun with a draft & craft beer, wine, spirits or event a cocktail at OPEN HOUSE's pop up bars - serving from 12pm onwards.

BIRRA MORETTI PRESENT GRAN TOUR / MONDAY-THURSDAY (12PM - 10PM)

Back for a second year at British Summer Time Hyde Park, Birra Moretti Presents Gran Tour will once again be serving up the very best in Italian culture. Join us to make time for what matters, traditional Italian beer, authentic Italian food all enjoyed with your loved ones.

Try your hand at creating some regional Italian light bites to be shared with your chosen family. Savour the tastes of each region and learn how they have inspired the Birra Moretti range. If you aren't hungry you can try your hand at Bocce, take in some live music and dance to our DJ as the sun goes down over Hyde Park.

FREE AERIAL CIRCUS AND WORKSHOPS WITH UPSWING / MONDAY-THURSDAY (4PM - 9PM)

Have a go at aerial and acrobatics with Upswing… if you dare! Aerial circus company Upswing arrives at BST Open House to share how they blend aerial circus, theatre and dance together in a wonderful jumble that'll have the audience gasping. Come along to see our free performances throughout each evening, then have a go in one of the free open workshops with professional circus artists.

THE ROYAL PARKS SHOWCASE / TUESDAY-THURSDAY

The Royal Parks Showcase features a plant sale manned by horticultural experts, visitors will be able to get tips and advice as well as buy flowers and plants grown at the on-site Hyde Park Nursery. There will be daily talks including 'Growing food in London's small gardens', educational activities for all the family, a photography display which features the winners from the Parks' 2018 competition and a summer games area. There will also be opportunities to support The Royal Parks charity by signing up to run, cycle or swim in major events such as the London Marathon.

FREE FAMILY THEATRE WITH CHICKENSHED @ BARCLAYCARD STAGE / TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY (10.30AM - 2PM)

Returning to the festival, Chickenshed's Tales from the Shed continues to grow and grow. This year will be the biggest performance of them all as Tales is teaming up with Brit School's Community Arts Practice students who, as part of their course, study Chickenshed's inclusive approach to theatre making

The show will incorporate stories, both traditional and original told using puppets, full body suits, physical theatre and with constant input from the audience. This approach means no show will ever be the same, meaning it will be a truly unique theatre experience in a unique. And what's more amazing is that it's free!
