Two new outdoor music events with an attendance of 30,000 have been proposed for Wanstead Flats, London for next summer by Live Nation subsidiary MAMA & Company, reports Ilford Recorder (here).

MAMA & Co - the people who run Lovebox, Citadel, Wilderness, and The Great Escape - are proposing two different options. One is 'Kayam', which would happen on consecutive weekends in June and be a main-stage show that's more a big gig than a festival which they say would present acts along the lines of "George Ezra, Jess Glynne, Paulo Nutini, and the Stereophonics". The second, 'Steel Yard', would take place in September and have acts such as "Biffy Clyro, the Prodigy, Pendulum and Nine Inch Nails".

The Epping Forest and Commons Committee have been asked to provide feedback on whether they would prefer one or other of these events, with the promoter ideally wanting to hold both. 'Kayam' would MAMA's preferred option if just one can go ahead.  Further considerations will be made in November.
