The first acts have been announced for the 54th Cambridge Folk Festival taking place from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5th August 2018, at Cherry Hinton Hall Grounds, in Cambridge

Taking top spot on Saturday night is the iconic Patti Smith & her band, while Sunday is headlined by two-time Grammy-winner singer-songwriter John Prine. They're joined over the weekend by Janis Ian (UK festival exclusive), Rosanne Cash, Kate Rusby & Friends, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Eliza Carthy and The Wayward Band, and blues legend Eric Bibb.

There's also Americana pioneer Rhiannon Giddens who is also the festival's guest curator for this year, plus Songhoy Blues, St Paul and The Broken Bones, Elephant Sessions, John Smith, Pierce Brothers, Irish Mythen, Darlingside, Tamikrest, The Shee, Peatbog Faeries, John Moreland, Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys, Damien O'Kane and Ron Block, The East Pointers, Darren Eedens & the Slim Pickins', and National Youth Folk EnsembleFor all the details so far including day splits please see the line-up page.
