Promoters AEG Live are planning a new festival for Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire for next summer, reports Music Week (here) - with rumours of The Rolling Stones being lined-up to headline.

Knebworth Park is one of the UK's more legendary outdoor venues, having hosted the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones in the 1970s, as well as major shows by the likes of Oasis and Robbie Williams during the 90s. It was last used for a major festival by the short-lived Sonisphere rock festivals, with the most-recent one happening in 2014.

The Rolling Stones will be starting a new tour this week in Germany with the shows produced by AEG, and they also played the AEG-run British Summer Time festival in London's Hyde Park in 2013 which was their most recent UK outing a week after their appearance at Glastonbury Festival.

There's no UK shows announced for this current tour as yet, with the band having tweeted that they hope to do UK shows in 2018.
