Van Morrison is the latest act announced for the annual Eden Sessions held in the surroundings of the Eden Project in Cornwall. His show will be on Saturday 1st July.
Rita Broe, Eden's marketing director, said: "Sir Van Morrison at the Eden Sessions on a summer night is a match made in musical heaven. We are so honoured to be welcoming a virtuoso singer-songwriter whose pure original genius has taken him from East Belfast to global superstardom, placing him high in the pantheon of truly great artists over more than half a century. This is going to be a magical concert. On a personal note, he is a hero of mine whose albums are like a life soundtrack. We are proud to present Sir Van to his legions of devoted fans."
Tickets will cost £50, and go on sale (from the link below) at 5.30pm on Tuesday 4th April.
Other sessions this year are from Bastille (£40) on Thursday 15th June, Madness on Friday 16th June (sold out), Royal Blood (£40) on Thursday 22nd June, Bryan Adams on Thursday 6th July 2017 (sold out), and Foals (£40) on Tuesday 11th July.
The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event. The event will have three stages featuring some of the best up-and-coming acts playing from early afternoon on each day as well as the headliners.
There is no camping allowed on site, and animals are not permitted.
