The Darkness have been announced as the first act for the FREE Godiva Festival, which attracts over 100,000 people from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd July 2016 at War Memorial Park, Coventry. They'll close the festival on the Sunday night.

Cllr Abdul Khan, Cabinet Member for Events, said: "It’s fantastic to be able to announce our first headline act for 2017 as The Darkness, who will play on Sunday afternoon. We’re working hard to help secure more bands and programme in our other two headline slots, so we’ll be making more announcements as soon as we can."

Godiva is a free and ticketless event - just turn up on the day. Godiva will be covering music to suit all tastes and featuring the ever-popular Godiva Unsigned, showcasing fresh, local talent.

There's something for everybody to enjoy, from the comedy tent to the family field, vintage market and charity village, greenspace tent, kids tent and funfair, all alongside a host of community stalls.
