Following the cancellation of the inaugural Under The Apple Tree Roots Festival, due to be held in the Silverstone Woodlands, in Northamptonshire in May. Curator, the legendary broadcaster 'Whispering' Bob Harris, announced the first of his brand new Under The Apple Tree Roots Festival would now be held at Cadogan Hall in London as a one day event on Saturday 10th September 2016.

Patty Griffin will headline the evening concert on the main stage. Her appearance at the festival will be her last in the UK in 2016. Also added to the line-up are Ward Thomas, and Scott Matthews.

Alongside the main auditorium stage, there will also be the chance to catch acoustic performances on a second, more intimate stage located in the main promenade, with performances from Dexeter, Small Town Jones, Balsamo Deighton, Blair Dunlop, and Catherine McGrath.

They will join other previously announced artists Squeeze co-founder Chris Difford with guest Boo Hewerdine, Welsh songstress Judith Owen and her band, The Lake Poets from Sunderland, Nashville singer/songwriter Andrew Combs, Dan Bettridge and Lewis and Leigh.

"We are really excited by the addition of Patty and Ward Thomas to the list of fabulous musicians appearing at my first festival." Said Bob Harris, "The full line line-up is a wonderful balance between exciting new talent and established stars, Patty and Ward Thomas will provide the perfect end to a perfect day in a perfect venue. I think it’s a great way to start this new series of one day festivals."

The Cadogan Hall festival is the first in a series of plans to host other intimate Under The Apple Tree events both in London and around the country. "Our intention was always to allow UTAT to grow organically as a brand" explained creative director Miles Myerscough-Harris, "We are committed to creating events that work for artists and the audience. Our Festival In A Day is one step in that direction."
