This year it will be 21 years of T Break T in the Park's grassroots music initiative which began in 1996, and searches for Scotland's freshest unsigned musical talent.

Once again the hunt is on for the best new talent in Scotland. 16 of the best unsigned acts in Scotland will get the chance to have a slot on the T Break Stage at T in the Park. Any unsigned musical act, band and solo artist, is eligible to enter T Break, provided they are resident in Scotland, over the age of 18 and performing original material.

All submissions must be entered by midnight on Friday 8th April 2016 and will be heard by the T Break judging panel of , consisting of 16 of Scotland's most influential music industry experts including: artists, promoters, bookers, managers and members of the media, who will then select the line-up for the T Break Stage.

Nicola Cooper, Sponsorship Executive at Tennent’s Lager, said, "T Break is a fantastic opportunity for Scotland’s up and coming unsigned acts and one which Tennent’s Lager are very proud to have offered for 21 years. Not only will the successful 16 acts get the chance to play the T Break Stage in front of the legendary T in the Park crowd, they will also gain exposure to many influential music industry insiders and benefit from the many press and PR opportunities T Break has to offer, I would encourage any unsigned act in Scotland, who believe they have what it takes, to enter now."

Dave McGeachan from T Break partners DF Concerts, sits on the judging panel. He said, "T Break is a highlight for me every year, working as Senior Promoter at DF Concerts I see a lot of up and coming acts from all over the world, but there is something great about taking the time to see a snapshot of what’s coming through in Scotland every year. I’m never disappointed! I’m already looking forward to seeing what this year’s acts have in store."

The selected acts will be invited to play on the T Break Stage at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July 2016 where they will share a bill with The Stone Roses, Calvin Harris, LCD Soundsystem, Chase & Status, Faithless, Bastille, The 1975, Disclosure, Courteeners, Alesso, Jamie xx, James Morrison, Frightened Rabbit, Oliver Heldens, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Hannah Wants, Bear’s Den, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Krept & Konan, The Coral, The Temperance Movement, Oh Wonder, The Last Shadow Puppets, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Jess Glynne, Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Tinie Tempah, Tom Odell, Jack Garratt, Stiff Little Fingers, Shed Seven, Disciples, Rat Boy, Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys, Major Lazer, James Bay, Jake Bugg, Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls, Craig David’s TS5, Slaves, Maximo Park, John Grant, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, FIDLAR, Blossoms, and more.
