Sister Sledge featuring Grammy Award Winning Kathy Sledge, CeCe Peniston, Jean Carn, and Shirley Jones of The Jones Girls are the first acts to be announced for Margate Soul Weekend held from Friday 5th until Sunday 7th August 2016 at venues and open spaces in the Oldtown quarter of Margate, in Kent.
The soul music event is held in and around the harbour adjacent to the sands of Margate beach. It has become one of the biggest soul festivals the UK has to offer. Taking place annually on the first weekend of August, the event features over 50 DJ’s playing more than 40 hours of music from Friday 2pm through to Monday 4am. It offers a unique combination of large scale outdoor live shows, family friendly street performances, DJ led carnival street parties and the most eclectic mix of after 8pm club life, spread across multiple venues.
A complete all events wristband is priced at £60 and allows access to all indoor entertainment, a daily MSW wristband is is priced at £40 for Saturday, and £35 for Sunday, with some entertainment free.
