Reverend And The Makers, Little Comets, We Are The Ocean, Starsailor's James Walsh, and Hacktivist are the first acts to be confirmed for 2Q Festival will see six centrally located venues in Derby including The Guildhall Theatre, The Old Bell Hotel, The Venue, The Hairy Dog, Bar One and Vines host an eclectic mix of big name headliners and emerging talent on Saturday 9th April 2016.

Festival spokesman Martin Ridgeway (The Venue) confirmed that, "This will be an exciting day of live music for the City, which has long needed to promote itself as a credible destination for major bands and artists. The event has been six months in the planning, and while we are initially keeping the number and geography of the venues relatively small to test the water, if the event is a success, we will stage it annually and involve more venues and parts of the City in future years.

"The interesting mix of venues will allow us to programme a wide mix of musical genres. We are also involving active arts promoters such as Furthest From the Sea and Collective Midlands to make this a truly collaborative event. We want to encourage movement around the venues during the day so that gig goers can experience some of what Derby has to offer."

Bob Rushton of Derby Live added, "Derby Live were more than keen to get involved in this event which will be a fabulous day of mainstream live music in the City and something which we hope will become a fixture in our annual calendar."
