Arcadia Spectacular will being their Afterburner to the grounds of the Royal Dublin Society Showground on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November 2015 for POD & Hidden Agenda's new event Metropolis - Mother City, indoor festival.

The first of the festival's art installation announcements, Arcadia were set up in 2007 in order to push the boundaries of spectacle and sensory experience and set up home at Glastonbury Festival. They rework discarded military machinery and industrial components – turning them into dance arenas fusing sculpture, architecture, theatre, circus, robotics, engineering, lightning, music and cutting edge technology. Arcadia have been a key do-not-miss feature at Glastonbury and their stages have featured at festivals worldwide – with Afterburner Stage being one of the highlight’s of this year’s Ultra Miami 2015.

Last month, Arcadia put on a new show in their hometown of Bristol as a part of the city's year as European Green Capital. The 2 day performance spectacular saw the conversion of Arcadia's signature flames to biofuel – creating the world's first recycled biofuel pyrotechnics system running in sync with electronic musicians.

The Afterburner is a 360 degree, fully rigged stage. Built from recycled materials, it is designed to create an immersive arena. A central, flaming spire above the DJ booth radiates light, while a sound system surrounds it and spiralling arms reach INTO the crowd, creating multi-level dance platforms and layered spatial dynamics.

Arcadia explain, "The Afterburner is designed to transport a 4000 person strong dance floor to another reality. With a DJ booth at the core of the structure, its towering spire fires 30 foot flames into the air as a barrage of light and visuals shoot out across the crowd in channelled synchronization."

They will be bringing their interactive stage to Metropolis as one of the eight stages and spaces hosting acts like CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, The Roots, Mark Ronson (DJ set), Jamie xx, Giorgio Moroder, Todd Terje, Hot Chip, Vic Mensa, Le Galaxie, Formation, Booka Brass Band, Flight Facilities, Omar Souleyman, Vince Staples, Trinity Orchestra (performing LCD Soundsystem), Floating Points, Four Tet, White Collar Boy, Gemma Dunleavy, CLU, Benji B, Forrests, Kaytranada, Jeff Mills, Tiga, Kerri Chandler, KiNK, Maribou State, Dorian Concept, Matthew Herbert, Nosaj Thing, Kormac's Big Band, and Cloud Castle Lake.

The festival offers music, performance, conversation, and installation - the Conversations & Spoken Word line-up includes Giorgio Moroder, Howard Marks, Sir David Rodigan, John Cooper Clarke, The Legend Of The Hacienda: Dave Haslam: Mike Pickering: Greg Wilson: Ben Kelly, Academy Films A+ Panel, and The Lighthouse Cinema Presents 24 Hour Party People & Metropolis.
