Kendrick Lamar to headline Australia's Bluesfest

American hip hop star Kendrick Lamar is to headline the first night of the 27th Bluesfest - The International East Coast Blues and Roots Festival which returns to Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, near Byron Bay, Australia over the Easter weekend from Thursday 24th until Monday 28th March 2016.

He is joined on the bill by the previously announced The National, City and Colour, Ali Campbell (with Astro and Mickey Virtue), Joe Bonamassa, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tom Jones, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Jackson Browne, The Decemberists, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Tweedy, Steve Earle & The Dukes, The Wailers performing 4 albums Exodus, Uprising, Survival, and Legend in their entirety, Grace Potter, Lord Huron, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Vintage Trouble, Lucky Peterson, eMDee, Blackberry Smoke, The Cat Empire, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, The Word, Rhiannon Giddens, Janiva Magness, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Allen Stone, The Selecter, Shakey Graves, and Songhoy Blues. the previously announced The National, City and Colour, Ali Campbell (with Astro and Mickey Virtue), Joe Bonamassa, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Cat Empire, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, The Word, Rhiannon Giddens, Janiva Magness, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Allen Stone, The Selecter, Shakey Graves, and Songhoy Blues, with more to be announced.

The early bird tickets are priced at $525 plus booking fee for a full five day ticket. All Kids under the age of 5 are free. Children between the age of 5 and 14 inclusive have to be in the supervision of a Responsible adult.

Bluesfest offers all kinds of blues music, world music, roots music, and a hybrid of those and other cultural styles under one umbrella - Blues & Roots Music. Bluesfest has continued to evolve incorporating surf culture, Latino Music, African Music, as well as political and environmental message artists.
