Belgian electropop singer and rapper Stromae has had to cancel all his summer fesitval appearances including London's Wireless Festival, Portugal's NOS Alive Festival, and Spain's Festival Internacional de Benicassim.

All Stromae's live appearances are effected until at least early August. He was due to perform in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo last Saturday, but the concert was cancelled on Friday and Stromae was flown back to Europe. Yesterday, a statement from his management, his label Mosaert and his Paris-based promoter Auguiri Productions, confirmed that all forthcoming concerts were cancelled and that Stromae was suffering from 'serious' secondary effect linked to a vaccination against malaria.

The statement says, "Following the cancellation of Stromae’s show in Kinshasa, the medical examination of the Artist reveals that he suffers from serious side effects from a prophylactic (preventive) antimalarial treatment: his current state has required immediate hospital care and he will remain under special monitoring over the next coming weeks.

We present our most sincere apologies to the attendees of these shows, the promoters, festival teams and everybody who has been working hard towards making them happen."

Other concerts cancelled include Kigali (Rwanda) , Postepay Rock in Roma (Italy), Locarno's Moon & Stars Festival (Switzerland), Padua's Hydrogen Festival (Italy), Osheaga Music & Art Festival (Canada), and Lollapalooza (USA).
