Inspiral Carpets to headline Apollo Festival

Inspiral Carpets will headline the 3rd annual Apollo Festival taking place in York on Saturday 27th June 2015 in the grounds of York Sport's Club, Clifton Park, on Shipton Road.

Following the announcement, singer Stephen Holt said: "We're really pleased to be playing the Apollo Festival in York. We're on good form, don't miss out. Cool As x."

Also confirmed to appear are Space, and Shed Seven frontman Rick Witter (DJ Set). Other acts announced for the festival's four stages include Hijak Oscar, Kimberley Kennedy, The Mothers, Beth McCarthy, Rupert Stroud, Crybabycry, Happy Daggers, Rime Suspex, and Hello Operator.

The early bird offer has ended. Tickets are priced at £15 per adult (+ booking fee), and children (under 12's) tickets are priced at £5 per child.

Festival goers will be able to enjoy a large number of stalls, attractions and caterers provided by some of York's favourite local businesses plus a full fairground, and a whole day of children's activities with open Air theatres free Kids zone and the annual hay bale fight.

The theme for the festival this year is 'Hats', with tickets to Apollo Festival 2016 the prize for the the most crazy, strange and wacky hat.

This year's kids section entertainment will include include Roman and Viking villages, donkey rides, facepainting and 'welly wanging'.

Organisers hope to raise as much as possible for charities.
