BLOC weekend returns after 2 year hiatus

Two years after the ill fated London Pleasure Gardens hosted event had to be cancelled in 2012, BLOC Weekend has been quietly making a comeback and returns in 2015 to offer three days of independent electronic music, held once again at Butlins Resort, Minehead, Somerset from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th March 2015.

Acts confirmed so far include Jeff Mills b2b Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Modeselektor, ESG, Carl Craig, Hudson Mohawke, Jackmaster, Omar-S, Karenn, Robert Hood, Hessle Audio feat. Ben UFO, Pangaea, and Pearson Sound, and Moritz von Oswald, with more to be confirmed.

There's self-catered, heated chalet accommodation on site, with ensuite and equipped with beds, kitchen, showers, and all mod cons. Butlins Minehead looks out across a sandy beach. The site is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants.

Tickets are done per chalet. Tickets have to be bought in groups of multiple berths according to the size of the apartment wanted - 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 berth. Standard chalets are like adjoining hotel rooms, with their own bathroom and TV but no kitchen or lounge. The early bird price is £169 (+ booking fee) per person, including all-arena passes. With the super early bird, 6 berth chalets are available for the price of 5 berths, which is £140 (+ booking fee) per person.

There are also chalets that have a kitchen and lounge priced at £189 (+ booking fee) per person, including all-arena passes. 'Silver' chalets also have a kitchen and lounge but are a bit posher and have a microwave and stuff like that and are £199 (+ booking fee) per person.

Top of the range is a ‘Gold’ apartment, priced at £209 per person (+ booking fee). These apartments also feature a kitchen and lounge, with with a more luxury feel than the rest and are situated closer to the arenas. They also feature a fully equipped modern kitchen, 100% Egyptian-cotton bedlinen, widescreen TV and DVD, a second TV in the master bedroom, shower rooms with towels included, hairdryer and personal safe.

Onsite facilities include a Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride, plus ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include archery, football, basketball, darts, petanque, fencing, kwik cricket, netball, rounders, table tennis, outdoor bowls and crazy golf.
