Rock Werchter moves dates to fit the schedule of one of the headliners

Now in it's 41st year Belgium's biggest rock festival Rock Werchter has confirmed that they have moved the previously confirmed dates for 2015 to new dates of Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th June.

The festival organisers have revealed the festival has been moved one week forward, to fit the schedule of one of their headliners.

There's no news who the big act is who will be joining an as yet unannounced line-up that will feature international well known acts in the small village of Werchter in Rotselaar, Belgium.

Ticket prices for 2015 have not yet been announced. Last year’s four-day festival was completely sold out in advance.

The move comes as a surprise to much of Belgium's student population, many of whom attend Werchter as a traditional end to their college year, however the new dates places the festival ahead of the end of their exam week.

Another Belgium festival, Graspop Metal Meeting has also advanced it's place in the festival calendar. It will now take place from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June, one week earlier than in previous years, and out of the weekend now occupied by Werchter. Festival organisers have also hinted this is down to touring schedules saying, "Many foreign groups finish their European tour in mid-June."

It looks as though there are some big names on the festival circuit next summer, big enough for festivals to move dates to accommodate them, just who they are we will have to wait and see.
