Ali Campbell has been announced for Bearded Theory festival happening at Catton Hall, in Derbyshireon Bank Holiday weekend with music starting from Thursday 22nd until Sunday 25th May 2014.

Founder members Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, formerly of the successful UK reggae band UB40 are confirmed as the closing headliner for Bearded Theory 2014.

In a statement, the trio said: “The three founding members have reformed and reunited to bring you the true sound of UB40,” and revealed: “Ali, Astro and Mickey are currently in the studio working on a new album.” 

Carter USM will headline Friday night, as a UK festival exclusive, The Stranglers headline Saturday, and Doctor & The Medics headline Thursday. Sunday's headliner

They are joined by The Blockheads, Oysterband, 3 Daft Monkeys, The Orb Soundsystem, Hayseed Dixie, Dreadzone, Dub Pistols, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Men They Couldn't Hang, Duke Special, Doctor and the Medics, Billy Nasty, Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs, Ferocious Dog, Dexters, Merry Hall, Astralasia, Chris Liberator, Glowbones, Tribazik, Mark One, Drum Machine, Ege Bamyasi, Ted Triangle V Ed Tangent, Mr C, Finitribe Soundsystem, Ctrl Alt Del, Clumsy, Monster Ceilidh Band, Suns of Arqa, Celt Islam, DJ Templehead, The Membranes, King Prawn, Leatherat, The True Deceivers, The Karma Party, Tarantism, Colm Gray, Babyhead, New Groove Formation, The Sporadics, The Autonomads, Boot Hill All Stars, Doghouse Boat Boys, Peter Hook and The Light performing a Joy Division and New Order classic set, and more.

A weekend camping with Thursday ticket is priced at £87. A 12-15 year old weekend ticket is priced at £45, a child's aged 6-11 weekend tickets is priced at £25 whether for arrival on Thursday or Friday, children aged 5 and under are free and Family Tickets are priced at  £220 (2 x adult & 2 x children). All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

There will a charge for car parking of £10. A live in vehicle ticket is priced at £30.

Bearded Theory Festival is also offering a unique chance for unsigned bands to appear at the 2014 event. Fans will be able to choose which acts are selected to appear with the Bearded Breakthrough competition offering two winners the chance to play either the Main Stage or the Tornado Town second stage. The contest is open to acts in all genres who have not appeared at Bearded Theory previously.
