Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side at Blissfields.Next year's Saturday theme for Blissfields, the family friendly small festival now in it's 14th year is "Walk on the Wild Side".

Organisers say, "Blissfields theme sets out to explore the side of yourself that doesn't usually run free, the mysterious side that you'd nearly forgotten was there and maybe didn't even know existed. To walk on the wild side is about finding your spirit animal, your Patronus, and pace with them hand in hand, momentarily to explore and be as one with the world and it's nature.

"Festival co-founder Melanie Bliss woke up in the wee small hours of a July morning with a vision of drag queens and animals running wild, as an earthy bass-line trembled amid the trees of the festival, an echoing whisper, a chorus of "do de do de doo de de doo" it was an electrifying stampede, a beautiful mess! And so the theme was born. Made all the more poignant by the recent passing of Lou Reed, 2014 will be a celebration of living life to the fullest, to look at the world with innocence and a sense of excitement.

To complement the theme organisers are including a debating/lecture/education area covering many aspects of the natural world and science. There will be a programme of speakers and lecturers to bring alive important topics and have a load of fun at the same time.

The area will be co-hosted with the festival's adopted charity for 2014 the Born Free Foundation, who are commemorating their 30th year of campaigning for wildlife.

Blissfields returns on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th July 2014 (no music Sunday), to Woodmancott, in Hampshire, in the South of England.

As always, Blissfields has a theme each year and encourages attendees to lose themselves in fancy dress of the most absurd festival garb. There are no acts confirmed yet for 2014. Music takes place across six stages.
