Bellowhead, and Levellers, lead the first acts to be announced for Galtres Parklands Festival held over three days this year on August bank holiday weekend, from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August 2014 at Duncombe Park, Helmsley, near York, in North Yorkshire.

Now in its tenth year, the little festival that started life at the back of The Durham Ox in Crayke, will see both acts jointly headline the opening Friday, with double-headliners also to be revealed for the Saturday and Sunday, and joining hundreds more of the best bands from Yorkshire and beyond.

Bellowhead will be sharing Galtres' birthday celebrations, with 2014 also being their tenth anniversary. Levellers return to Galtres by popular demand, following a storming headline performance in 2011. Both are renowned for their energetic live shows and are sure to get everyone in a field dancing.

Festival director James Houston, said "Since that amazing Levellers performance a few years back, our social media has been dominated by calls for their return.

"There's been a huge buzz around getting Levellers back, and I'm really excited that we've made it happen - and especially that they will join us for our big tenth birthday celebration next year.

"But having Bellowhead too is an incredible treat - what a line-up! They promise a spectacular and theatrical live show, which will form a fantastic opening night to the festival weekend. We just can't wait!"

The other first names announced today are The Men They Couldn't Hang, Blackbeard's Tea Party, Aelfen, and Three Sheets T'Wind.

Expect a full programme of entertainment on five stages of music and cabaret, loads for kids to do from film making to music workshops, and all set in a rural setting overlooking the Vale of York. Music ranges from chart-topping bands to local emerging talent, ranging from pop and acoustic to jazz, blues and ska. Comedy, theatre and offbeat performances at the night cabaret, films, family camping and clean loos too.

An early bird adult weekend ticket is priced at £82, young person (aged 5 -15 years) tickets are priced at £29, a family ticket (2 adults and up to three children) is priced at £246.

Weekend festival tickets can be bought in two instalments, spreading the cost over six months or more, and also saving £10. Pay half now, and the balance by 1 July 2014. The deal guarantees a reduced rate of £85 for a ticket.

Day tickets will be available at a later date. A camping (per tent) ticket is priced from £15 to £45 depending upon size of tent.
