The Arts & Expression theme for next year's The Secret Garden Party has been announced as "Goodbye Yellowbrick Road" for the event which happens from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th July 2014 at Mill Hill Field, Abbots Ripton, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

In 2014 the Arts & Expression theme  asks festival goers are asked to join in with festival goers interacting with on site installations, artworks, performances and absurd happenings. Expect over 50 art installations, numerous participatory action camps, and countless performances, all woven between the 17 arenas & stages showcasing over 350 bands across 4 days.

Organisers said of the theme, "Sickened by commercial gigolos and the false promise of fame and Fortune achievable only through wearing the right deodorant? Well then, join us in saying "Goodbye (to the) Yellow Brick Road" and its promise of (social/financial) redemption. Within the shelter of the Garden, where the dogs of society's howl is inaudible, we are exploring the more positive visual imagery in our favourite songs - so dust off your old LPs say an oh my and a boo hoo to the 9 to 5…   Dance with us beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free; because, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

The first act has also been announced as Max Raabe & The Palast Orchester. Founded in 1986 the German band revive the popular music of the 1920s and 1930s, especially the songs written during the Weimar Republic.

Grant Applications are now open for those who wish to submit their proposals to the Secret Garden Party 2014. Whether it is producing an art installation, running an action camp, curating a parade, building an art boat or a tree house, devising a fire show, hosting a workshop, making an art car …details can be found on the festival's website.
