During last weekend's Bloodstock Open Air reformed Norwegian black metallers Emperor were announced as one of the headliners for next year's event taking place from Thursday 7th until Sunday 10th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire.

The band who formed in 1991 broke up a decade later before reuniting from 2005 to 2007 for a few festival dates. Next year sees the band return to the live scene to play a handful of shows in 2014, with Bloodstock their only UK performance.

The announcement was made on the festival big screen, just prior to Lamb Of God's Saturday night headline slot.

As well as the international heavy metal bands across four stages, Bloodstock will offer a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.

There are no other acts confirmed yet for 2014.
