Martha Wainwright, Ghostpoet, Mount Kimbie, The Staves, and Merchandise are the first acts announced for the new family friendly Summercamp taking place in Liverpool over August bank holiday.

Billed as a village fete meets a bloc party, the event will feature both outdoor and indoor stages around the host warehouse venue, the Camp and Furnaceover two days Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August 2013.

A weekend of music, art, film, food, performance, play, learning and spectacle aimed at all ages.

Liverpool Biennial bring their art expertise to Summercamp via The Experimental Music School, a family programme for all ages taking the form of workshops, games, experiments and performances. Artists will include Yuri Landman. His workshop will involve the building of bespoke instruments, Landman's previous creations have been used by Sonic Youth amongst many others meaning the audience are in truly expert hands. Following the workshop there will be a performance of a new work using these newly created instruments with critically acclaimed Liverpool trio Ex-Easter Island Head. Summercamp will soon be announcing the details of its film programme in collaboration with media arts centre FACT.

The Family programme will include Urban fox hunts, teddy bear's picnics, cardboard tree houses, and more with the family programme delivered jointly by Summercamp, Liverpool Biennial and Just So Festival will include food, film, music, making and dressing up running from 11am to 7pm.

The festival will move indoors and under cover of darkness and present a lock-in with immersive audio visual artworks, gothic feasts, cinematic erotica, experimental electronica and a big warehouse party with cult DJs.

Summercamp's food offerings will be curated by Sunday Brunch co-host Simon Rimmer alongside host venue Camp and Furnace's own head chef Steven Burgess. The pair have enlisted Glynn Purnell, who will create two gourmet menus that will be served during Summercamp as part of a programme of bespoke banquets. Tickets to sittings of these menus will be very limited and are due to go on sale to Summercamp wristband holders in the next month. Can Cook, in partnership with Guerilla Eats, are assembling the best of the North West's street food. 15 traders will be cooking up an array of international cuisine in the street food style.

Summercamp Director Miles Falkingham stated, "We are thrilled to be bringing an event encompassing such a breadth of art and entertainment to the Baltic Triangle.
