Lucinda Williams, and The Flaming Lips are among the acts confirmed as part of Brighton Festival's contemporary music programme.

Also confirmed are Herbie Flowers, Fatboy Slim, Future Wife, Nina Hagen, David McAlmont, The Irrepressibles, Sinead O' Connor, Apparat, Angelique Kidjo, Sam Lee & Friends, The Tiger Lillies, Wara, Felix's Machines, Zoe Rahman, and The Great Enormo.

This year's Guest Director is poet, writer, broadcaster, and former Children's Laureate Michael Rosen who takes the helm of the arts celebration now in its 47th year and taking place from Saturday 4th to Sunday 26th May 2013.

Throughout three weeks of entertainment the festival aims to bring great art to Brighton, and to harness the creative energy of the city to make great new art of its own. Other events include a full programme of visual arts & film, books and debate, classical music, dance & circus, programming for children, lunchtime concerts, outdoor events, and theatre.
