Bonobo will headline the Friday night of Beacons Festival which takes place from Friday 16th until Sunday 18th August 2013 at Funkirk Estate, Carleton, in North Yorkshire.

Bonobo
Bonobo, aka Simon Green, is a British musician, producer and trip hop DJ who often appears with a full band. The band plays live renditions of studio material, with a singer, keyboardist, guitarist, saxophonist, string section, electronics, and drummer. Green mainly plays bass guitar, and leads the band from the middle.

Also confirmed today is singer Ghostpoet who will take to the stage before Bonobo on the Friday.

First details of the non-music programme have also been unveiled. There will be various guerrilla theatrics happening across the site including The Garden shed Stage, with The Impossible Lecture returning with a 72 hour lecture of endurance. Also confirmed is the spoken word and film tent, Into The Woods, which will run in conjunction with Sheffield Docfest and Cine Yorkshire, and The LadyBird Project will be providing more fun festival experiences for families.

Organisers also promise a host of interactive light and sound installations, hand crafted structures, and flag installations that will be positioned throughout the site.

Creative activities will include everything from making your own musical instruments to screen-printing your own Beacons clothing, as well as talks and debates on subjects ranging from nuclear fission to DIY culture.

Already confirmed are Django Django, Local Natives, Solange, John Talabot, Savages, Fucked Up, Lunar C, Gabriel Bruce, Paradise, East India Youth, Dauwd, Fatima, Iration Steppas, Ofei, Prince Fatty, Theo Parrish, Moon Duo, Floating Points, David Rodigan, Ben UFO, Egyptian Hip Hop, Oneman, Eats Everything, Bicep, Dutch Uncles, Machine Drum, Bondax, Esben and the Witch, Andres, Chad Valley, Channel One Soundsystem, Move D (DJ set), Jon K, Hookworms, Childhood, Temples, Drenge, Wolf Alice, Jaws, and Thumpers.
