Irish concert promoters MCD are planning a new music festival called Longitude to take place on the same weekend as Latitude Festival 2012 over the weekend of Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st July 2013.

According to the Irish Times, (here), MCD are planning to bring a new festival to Ireland to run in July 2013, over the same weekend as the Latitude festival in the UK.

Irish Times sources say that possible venues for Longitude could be Fairyhouse Racecource in Meath or Belvedere House, Co. Westmeath. They've also reportedly made offers for acts for the festival already.

Denis Desmond's MCD in partnership with Live Nation are the parent company of English promoter Festival Republic who run Latitude at Henham Park Estate, Suffolk. MCD organised Oxegen Festival which took a year out this year, and it's possible that Longitude will happen in place of the Irish festival next year, although The Irish Times also reports that it has heard "there is also further talk about a two-day EDM festival at Punchestown in August."

Latitude isn't just about music and colourful sheep, but has a full spectrum of art including film, comedy, theatre, cabaret, dance, poetry, literature and art.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £175 with a Family Camping option also available, with a weekend ticket for all children aged 5 -12 years priced at £5. An adult day ticket for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday is priced at £75, with a day ticket for all children aged 5 -12 years priced at £5. A campervan permit is priced at £40.
