Minimalist indie poppers The xx have been announced as the second headlining act at next year's Eden Sessions.

The London trio released their second album, 'Coexist', earlier this year, the follow up to their 2009 Mercury Music Prize winning self titled debut album, which included the singles 'Islands', 'Crystalised', 'Basic Space' and 'VCR'.

Martin Williams, Eden Project Marketing Director, said, "We are thrilled to be able to announce an act of such a high calibre for the 2013 Eden Sessions. We're very excited to be hosting The xx, especially considering that we are one of just a handful of summer gigs they will be playing."

Comic Izzard was the first act confirmed for next year. He will be performing at the Eden Sessions on Monday 3rd June 2013 as part of his 2013 tour Force Majeure, which will be the most extensive comedy tour ever.

Eden Sessions have become more like a one-day festival, with three stages and acts playing from early afternoon on each day.

Tickets are priced at £35 and will go on sale at 5pm on Thursday 3rd January 2013, when eFestivals will have links for you to buy them. Every Sessions ticket includes entry to Eden on the day of the show or the day after.

Next year's Eden Sessions will their twelfth edition. The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event.
