Iron Maiden have been announced as headliners of Sonisphere France and Italy.

Iron Maiden
These two headlining 'Maiden England' shows see the band recreate the stage show of the 1988's Seventh Son Tour at , and the two day 30,000 capacity Snowhall Park, France happening on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June 2013.

Lead singer Bruce Dickinson said, "We've headlined many Sonisphere European Festivals in the past, including UK, Sweden, Spain and Italy and there’s always been a terrific vibe at each of them. After hearing how quickly the Paris Bercy show sold out, we're now looking forward to bringing the Maiden England tour to even more fans at Sonisphere France. Thanks to modern technology, we've been able to update and improve on the original 1988 production for Maiden England. We will be bringing with us a huge new lightshow, stage set, various incarnations of Eddie, plenty of pyro and all kinds of other exciting stuff for the fans!"

Their appearance in France will be their only open air performance in the country next year, Maiden fever in France is high with the recently announced show at Paris, Bercy (17,000) on June 5th 2013, sold out almost instantly and the 30,000 tickets for Sonisphere are expected to go fast.

Bassist Steve Harris continued, "We know how popular the History of Maiden Tours are with fans of all ages and we will be bringing with us the full production we had on tour in North America earlier this year. We had a huge amount of fun with the set list there as we got to play songs we had not played in a very long time like 'Seventh Son', 'The Prisoner' and 'Afraid To Shoot Strangers', as well as fan favourites like 'The Trooper', 'Aces High', 'The Clairvoyant', 'The Number Of The Beast', 'Wasted Years' and 'Run To The Hills'. The opening leg of the tour was so enjoyable for the whole band, we're really looking forward to taking this whole show to our fans around Europe."

Tickets for both international Sonispheres will go on sale on Friday 16th November, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then. There is still no news yet on the UK leg of the travelling festival.
