exclusive: first acts announced for Bearded Theory 2013

eFestivals can exclusively reveal the first acts for Bearded Theory 2013.

All the acts are confirmed for Tornado Town which returns for a second year to bring to the 'village fete gone wrong' a relaxed atmosphere, where festival goers can go and chat and see some quality acts during the day. Whilst at night the tempo usually picks up and the musical menu will be wide ranging being anything from Hoedown to Swing and anything in between.

Headlining Friday night will be dance ska band Maroon Town. Also confirmed are Buster Shuffle, Left Step Band, Port Erin, John Robb's post punk outfit The Membranes, Tornado Town House Band the Boot Hill All Stars, Bootscraper, The Bakseats, Frenzy, and Sunday Driver.

Bearded Theorists can also expect competitions throughout the weekend and the area will hosts the usual Sunday Morning surprise slot that Bearded Theory has become famous for.

Every year Bearded Theory attempts to break the world record for the most amount of people wearing a fancy dress beards in one place and at one time.

The Tornado Town stage will join the Main Stage, Magical Sounds Stage, and Angel Gardens Stage next year. eFestivals believes Levellers have already agreed in principle to headline the event next year.

The main stage acts are yet to be announced for Bearded Theory which takes place from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May 2013 at Kedleston Hall Park, Derby, in Derbyshire and offers a large childrens area, site art, world foods, open mic, busk stop, random happenings, camping, and more.

Tickets are now on sale with early bird tickets having sold out. A weekend camping Thursday ticket is priced at £89, and camping from Friday is priced at £79. A 13-16 year old weekend ticket is priced at £40 or £45 including early entry Thursday, a child's aged 6-12 weekend tickets is priced at £10 whether for arrival on Thursday or Friday, children aged 5 and under are free and Family Tickets are priced at £230 (2 x adult & 2 x children) or £260 with Thursday entry. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No day tickets will be released for sale for the 2013 festival.
