American singer-songwriter Patti Smith & her band has been revealed as this year's special guest at this summer's End Of The Road.

Festival organisers said of the 'Godmother of Punk's booking, "We have been huge fans of Patti Smith's work for many years and to have her finally play our festival is frankly surreal and a real honour. There are few musicians whose names alone can evoke such a vast array of images, sounds and stories as Patti Smith's."

The festival which happens at Larmer Tree Gardens, Tollard Royal, Salisbury, in Wiltshire on Friday 31st to Sunday 2nd September 2012 has previously confirmed headliners Grandaddy, and Grizzly Bear are making their only UK festival appearance, and Tindersticks are co-headliners. Tickets sold out last year. Early birds sold out in five hours. An adult ticket is priced at £150. A youth (ages 13-17 years who must be accompanied by an adult) ticket is priced at £120, a ticket for children aged 6-12 years (must be accompanied by an adult) is priced at £50, with free entry for a child aged 0 - 5 years, they still need tickets can be purchased in advance. Tickets for a campervan/caravan pass are priced at £50, a car parking is priced at £TBC (payable in cash on arrival).
