The festival will host performances of music, dance (and a few surprises) across seven stages, as well as a Family Area, art displays and the new acoustic Icehouse Stage. The event for all ages and musical tastes, offers rock, pop, folk, reggae, jazz and classical music from the local area and around the world.
Music will be playing on all the stages from 12noon till 11pm on Saturday, and 12noon till 9pm on Sunday.
Gill Hannington, Chair of Rhythms of the World, said, "We're delighted to be able to begin selling tickets to this year's festival. We know that it helps to be able to plan in advance and even though the Summer seems a long way off whilst we shiver in March, standing in a queue come festival weekend can easily be avoided."
As 2012 is the 11th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteer, organisers also hope to recruit even more volunteers to help before and during the festival. This year these will include an increase in the number of toilets, improved trackway for disabled access and improved security.
Tickets for either day are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children (aged 6-17 years). Free for 5 years and under.
Disabled festival-goers also benefit from a 2-for-1 ticket deal where anyone who is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or who is a blue badge holder is entitled to bring a friend or carer free.
