Applications are now open to apply to join the 5,000-strong team of Oxfam stewards at some of the UK's biggest music festivals this summer – helping to make it all happen, and having the summer of your life.

To volunteer, you must be 18 and be willing to volunteer for 3 x 8 1/4 hour shifts usually over 5 days of the festival, with the rest of your time free to enjoy yourself. Roles vary from ticket checking, and campsite patrols to arena venues and disabled access platforms. You are also asked to pay a fully refundable deposit which is returned to you after the festival.

In return Oxfam provide with full training, a separate camping area with toilets and showers, a meal ticket per shift, a chance to make new friends and the opportunity to raise vital funds for Oxfam's work around the world.

Oxfam will be needing volunteers at: Download, Latitude, WOMAD, Camp Bestival, BoomTown Fair, Beautiful Days, WOWfest, Shambala, Reading, Leeds, and Bestival.

Here is what some Oxfam stewards have said about their experiences:

"Easily one of the most rewarding, enjoyable and enriching weekends of my life...met great people too - Stewards & ticket holders!"

"Friendly & best way to enjoy festivals, fantastic if you're on a budget or want to learn and little more about how they run."

"Stewarding is, quite simply, the best way to experience a festival. The sense of shared purpose with your fellow stewards added to the satisfaction of knowing that you've made a difference through Oxfam makes the experience all the better."
