The Imagined Village lead first round of acts for Sunrise Celebration

eFestivals can exclusively reveal The Imagined Village, The Egg, Gaudi, Benji Vaughan (Younger Brother / Twisted), Mungo's HiFi ft. Soom T and Mr. Williamz, Banco de Gaia, and Ghetto Funk DJs will headline this summer's Sunrise Celebration.

Super group The Imagined Village has an all star line-up that will feature Waterson Carthy legends Martin and his daughter Eliza Carthy, Simon Emmerson and Johnny Kalsi of Afrocelt Soundsystem and Transglobal Underground, and Andy Gangadeen and Simon Richmond of cult group The Bays and Jackie Oates, winner of BBC Folk Award for best newcomer.

"Sunrise is one of the festivals we've always wanted to play. Loads of the band and crew have been as paying punters for the vibe, music, ethics and general all round goodness. For me it's personal!" said Simon Emmerson of Imagined Village.

The festival in its 7th year and has moved to the solstice weekend for 2012 only! This is the weekend normally taken by Glastonbury Festival from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th June 2012.

Lilcombe Farm near Bruton, an organic farm in South Somerset will also be host to The Destroyers, Slamboree, Sheelanagig, Pronghorn, Buffalo Gals, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, Gabby Young and Other Animals, Calico Jack, Forcenra!, WOD, the 32 20s, and Duncan An DIsorderly who will all appear on wither the Outdoor Carnival Stage or Chai Wallah's.

The first acts confirmed for the Sunrise Solar Dance Stage and Eartheart Alchemy Chill include Master Blasters, Terra Nine, Antonio Testa, Joti Sidhu, Psychaos, Manasseh, Hedflux, Psychaos, Monk3y Logic, Outerloperz, Hypnocoustics, Nimbus, LlamaLeaf, Shane Gobi, Ans, Pogo, Lucas, Regan, Tom Real, Liquid Ross, Nik Sequenci, Hopi, Aliji, IPcress, Lurk, Simon Baring, John Bingly Bongly, Nick Interchill, Liquid James, Dani, Trevor P, Sally, Aixieles, Tom Fu, Natasha Foxtrot, DJ Moses, Addsimeon.

The Somerset eco-bash organiser Dan Hurring said, "A tantalising mix of unique musical collaborations, twisted circus sounds and foot stomping revelry, with lyrical genius and world-shifting musical experiences amidst hidden venues and thriving hives of inspiration and foolery."

To inspire throughout the festival there will be a host of some of the UK's leading alternative thinkers giving talks and workshops that will blow the mind and ground the feet into action. Speakers in The Green Dome, Conscious Frontiers, Ancient Futures, and Avalon Rising include Peter Owen Jones (BBCs Extreme Pilgrim/Around the World in 80 Faiths), Sheikh Ahmad Dede (Sufi Whirling Master), Maddy Harland (Editor of Permaculture Magazine), Leo Rutherford (UK Shamanism pioneer and author), Patrick Whitefield (UKs leading Permaculturalist), Theo Simons (Seize the Day/Hinkley Point C Protest), Dr David Luke (Breaking Convention, Ecology and Consiousness), Dr Ben Sessa (The History and Re-emergence of Psychedelics in Medicine), Jonathan Cainer (Famed Astrologer), Tim Freke (The Jesus Mysteries), Tim Wheater (Award-winning composer), and Ian Moore (The Galactic Wizard/Alt. Tech Pioneer).

There will also be theatre, cabaret, slam poetry, permaculture gardens, alternative technology work shops, solar cinema, sauna, hot tubs, tipi circle, sustainable living talks, workshops, healing sanctuary, central fire, walkabout performance, performance art, non-musical presentations, dress-up mayhem, dance, art installations, ethical fashion, eco innovations, and organic food and drink.

Sunrise has a dedicated kids area (where adults will be allowed only as long as they behave themselves!) Features this year will include a new climbing wall, swingboats and rides, kids disco, circus and crafts workshops, parades, a maze, outdoor games and more. For the older kids there will be graffiti walls, breakdance, poetry slams, hip hop, circus shows and skills, bushcraft skills and lots more still to be confirmed.

This year also sees the arrival of the Small World Solar Stage, the star of Glastonbury Green fields along with another new arrival - the Serenity field with a bespoke astrologically aligned Stone Circle.

"Sunrise is a unique blend of green philosophy and underground ideologies all given voice and held within a heart felt friendly environment. That's what makes the vibe so special and demonstrates 'another world is possible'", added Dan.

Campervan tickets are priced at £32.50 per vehicle (A campervan is defined as any vehicle you intend to sleep in for any part of the Festival)

The event is expected to be 100% ecologically powered, with a site-wide organic policy which also applies to alcohol. There are full camping facilities will be available including, showers, chemical & compost toilets.
