The first wave of acts to be confirmed are Architects, and The King Blues.

Slam Dunk also plays host to the only UK shows for the Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Set Your Goals, and Make Do And Mend tour that hits Europe earlier in the month.

Also confirmed are Mayday Parade, Forever the Sickest Kids, and The Audition.

Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday said, "We can't wait to head over to the UK to play Slam Dunk Festival. It's a bunch of great bands, some we've played with and others we have not, so it's gonna be cool getting to see and meet everyone. Hope to see y'all there!"

The twin festival of rock, metal, punk, emo, ska and everything in between will have seven stages of music, with the event running from 3pm until 11pm, with the aftershow again running till 3am. The first will be held on Saturday 26th May will be at Leeds University and the second, the day after, at University of Hertfordshire on Sunday 27th May.

There will be more announcements to come from the world of pop punk, rock and punk over the coming weeks. Promoter Ben Ray who started this in 2001 has seen the festival grow over the years, said, "Again this year it's been hard work, but I'm extremely happy with how the lineup is shaping up so far. Here are just 10 bands out of over 50 artists, so I'm confident the festival can again deliver a lineup of bands that everyone will agree is amazing value. I also thought it was extra important this year to demonstrate the value so tickets have been frozen at 2011 prices!"

Tickets are priced at £32.50 or £36 with aftershow, and go on sale at 9am this Friday, 17th February, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

This event is for over 14s only.
