The Wombats to headline Y-Not Festival

plus The Pigeon Detectives, The Subways, Summer Camp, and more

The Wombats will headline Saturday night at Y-Not Festival, which takes place from Friday 3rd until Sunday 5th August 2012 near Matlock in Derbyshire.

The Liverpudlian electro indie-poppers will be treating the crowd to hits like 'Let's Dance To Joy Division' and 'Call The Director', they will be supported by The Subways, with The Pigeon Detectives playing the same slot on Friday.

Also announced this morning are The Subways, Summer Camp, Juan Zelada, Masters in France, Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun, Boat To Row, and Son Of Eagle.

There are still two headliners, and many more acts to be confirmed, expect around 80 acts in total.

The festival, now in its seventh year, has a capacity of 5,000 people, and aside from the music on three stages, and is a showcase for all that is fresh and exciting in global music. From emerging talent and breaking bands to established acts. The festival attempts to have an intimate nature, with many of the bands camping with festival goers, and friendly stewards. Late night entertainment includes a dance tent, and camp fire singalongs.

This year's improvements include a new stage, a bigger line-up, a new arena, more stalls, more food, more to do onsite, improved camping facilities, with site access on Thursday possible for the first 2,000 at £9 per ticket.
