Villagers, and Cherry Ghost have been announced as headliners for North Yorkshire's Deer Shed Festival with more acts also confirmed for the weekend of Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July 2012.

Villagers
Villagers will headline on Saturday making their first UK festival appearance of 2012, Cherry Ghost will close the festival on Sunday with a Main Stage headline set with a difference – the band will take to the stage at 2.45pm, as Sunday is Deer Shed Festival's long goodbye – brunch, newspapers, crafts market and, for the first time, performances on the Main Stage before the arena closes late afternoon.

The family friendly event's Main Stage will also host Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves Of Destiny, and Treetop Flyers who both play on Saturday afternoon, and We Were Evergreen from France play on Sunday.

Since it debuted in 2010, Deer Shed Festival has built on the success of two sold-out editions, and expands this year with a bigger line-up that includes Main Stage and In The Dock Stage performances on all three days and a brand new Lake Stage.

Manchester band Dutch Uncles will headline the In The Dock Stage on Friday night.

The first acts to be announced for the new Lake Stage are led by Irish folk, deep South fusionists Tupelo who will headline Friday night. Joining them on the new stage line-up is Scottish singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni who performs on Saturday.

Further plans for this year will be revealed soon along with more acts including the Friday night headliner. There will be more details of the new site layout which has increased by a third, adding a cinema tent, hosting specially commissioned theatre productions, expanding its arts and activities programme and, of course, new of this year's theme, last year's was Sky at Night and saw Professor Brian Cox levels of stargazing before it all got so trendy.
