The Cure have been added to the line-up for Portugal's Optimus Alive 2012.

Robert Smith and pals will appear as headliners on Saturday 14 of July and join a line-up that includes Radiohead, The Stone Roses, Florence + The Machine, Caribou, Mazzy Star, and Metronomy, also confirmed. The Music and Arts festival, Optimus Alive!12, takes place in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, between Friday 13th and Sunday 15th of July, with bands starting at 5pm each day.

The Cure also headline Hultsfred in Sweden, the twin German festivals Southside and Hurricane, Holland's Pinkpop, France's Les Eurockeennes, Denmark's Roskilde, plus Italy's the Heineken Jammin' and Rock In Roma festivals, and are expected to announce 17 dates in total this summer.

Tickets are on sale now at the same price as last year. That's £45 for a day ticket and £103 for 3 Day Pass with camping or £89.10 without camping. From 1st January 2012 daily pass tickets will be priced at 53 euros, while the three-day passes will be 105 euros. To buy tickets, click here.

With the Tagus River as landscape to explore the festival has arts, cafes, restaurants, as well as music on offer. There will be camping available at Alive Festival priced at around 15 euros for the 3 days, there are also plenty of other accommodation options in the city and festival goers are recommended to book accommodation in Lisbon early.
