Seattle's Sanctuary for Bloodstock Open Air 2012

80's Seattle thrashers Sanctuary have reformed and will make their first UK appearance in over 20 years at next year's Bloodstock Open Air held from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th August.

The band where unearthed by Megadeth guitarist Dave Mustaine who helped get the band signed to CBS/Epic Records, produced their first album, and took them on the road with Megadeth. The band consisted of vocalist Warrel Dane, guitarists Lenny Rutledge and Sean Blosl, bassist Jim Sheppard, and drummer Dave Budbill; after their second album, Sanctuary disbanded, with Dane and Sheppard going on to form Nevermore.

After their massive hiatus, the band are ready to return to the UK for their only show of 2012. Frontman Warrel Dane said, "Really psyched to play Bloodstock 2012. It's the band's first time back in the UK in over 20 years and we are honored to be invited to one of the greatest summer festivals in the world. We can't wait to thrash it up with our fans! See you in August 2012."

Joining them with be Michigan metallers The Black Dahlia Murder, and Swedish metallers Grand Magus.

They join a line-up that includes the previously confirmed Alice Cooper, Dimmu Borgir, Hatebreed, Corrosion Of Conformity, Anaal Nathrakh, Watain, Paradise Lost, Anvil, Orange Goblin, and Doomed. For the line-up details as available please click here.

Early bird tickets are on sale until 15th December, priced at £95 for adults, and car parking, child (aged 4 - 11 years), day tickets, and campervan passes are expected to be on sale at a later date. To buy tickets, click here.
