eFestivals believes that Manchester band The Stone Roses are to re-form 15 years after they split up.

Ian Brown
The Madchester scene pioneers who included Ian Brown, Mani, and John Squire, split in 1996 after a terrible performance at Reading Festival without guitarist Squire who had already quit the band.

Squire and Brown have both repeatedly denied any possibility of a reunion, although a source has revealed to eFestivals that the band's 'third coming' will be announced tomorrow afternoon at a special press conference at a London hotel.

Murray Chalmers PR, who are handling the news conference have refused to confirm who will be the subject of the press conference. They are PR to acts like Radiohead, Coldplay, and Kylie.

Our sources say that they will announce The Stone Roses reunion for a full tour next June. eFestivals believes this will include dates in their home town of Manchester at Heaton Park. We'd also guess, based upon what we've heard, that the most likely festival appearances for the band will be at next year's V Festival.
