After Trowbridge Village Pump Festival was cancelled last year due to cash flow problems, another Village Pump Folk Festival will appear next year. The new event organised by the Trowbridge Village Pump Folk Club sets up 8 miles down the road at the White Horse Country Park, in Wiltshire.

Show Of Hands
The festival will be held beneath the Westbury White Horse and will "celebrate the best in Folk, Roots and Acoustic music". The festival has confirmed that it will take place from Friday 20th until Sunday 22nd July 2012.

Show of Hands have been announced as the first act confirmed for 2012, and will play the main stage on Saturday night, with more acts expected to be confirmed soon.

Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed but are expected to be around £85. Tickets will go on sale from Tuesday 1st November 2011, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.

Organisers have confirmed the event which offers fun for all types, and ages will have two main stages. The first of these is a large marquee hosting well known Folk, Roots and Acoustic acts, and the second is within the country club itself and will stage ceilidhs, alongside hosting up and coming acts, and established acts who suit a more intimate atmosphere. As well as the two main stages there will also be a number of smaller sessions and family oriented tents, plus bars and trade stalls.

Camping will be on a large, flat camping field which will allow festival goers on site from Thursday 19th July. The campsite will be a short walk from the main arena, and for those that would prefer not to walk, there will be a shuttle bus running every day.

The new event is organised by the Trowbridge Village Pump Folk Club which in no way represent the company who ran the old Trowbridge Village Pump Festival, however several of the people putting on the new festival had been involved with the old festival for years (including founder members John Alderslade and Pat Drinkwater). For more information see the festival's website (here).
