Solfest adds Freestylers and Utah Saints

Solfest have announced Freestylers, and Utah Saints, along with a host of DJ talents from across the globe, as the Dance Tent line-up is revealed.

Joining them the line-up are naughties dance pioneers Plump DJs, Dave Shocon, DJ M, DJ Woody, Rico Tubbs, Subsource, Mr Steve, KJs, Deaf Eric, Cumfy & The Hobo, User Friendly, Key Lo & Dr $icknote, G Shock, Nem, and Mr Psik.

Solfest has unveiled a brand new area for 2011 called the House Of Joy the festival's new home of ska, roots, reggae, rocksteady and dub! The place to have a feelgood skank to a rich mix of live bands and DJ's including DJ Jah-vis, Cojo, Mr Scratch, DJ Glover, Late Night Fiasco, Mad Arawak, Mr P, The Hostiles, and not forgetting high energy bass from Matty B.

This year's chill-out zone, Dogs In Space, will be ran by former Megadogs main man Michael Dog.

They join icons The Stranglers, The Damned, The Saw Doctors and classic 90's outfit Cast, folk songstress Kate Rusby, Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson, Camille O' Sullivan, Mostly Autumn, Lau, Kanda Bongo Man, Po' Girl, The Travelling Band, Bikini Beach Band, Pikey Beatz, Room Full of Owls, Rory McLeod, 3 Daft Monkeys, and a host of other folk, pop and rock bands will appear across the weekend. The Damned have specially chosen Solfest to celebrate 35 years since the release of their debut single 'New Rose', which landed in 1976, complimenting a stellar dance bill at one of the UK’s biggest parties.

There are still many more acts to be announced for the eighth Solfest which takes place on August Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th August 2011.

Solfest is ran almost entirely by a group of volunteers whose aim has always been to create a festival where all generations of family can relax together, where young and old can find entertainment around every corner.

The festival includes free camping, free parking (next to your tent), plenty of food from around the world, a licensed bar (or you can bring your own), sculptures, a healing area, adult workshops, craft stalls, walkabout performances and theatre, a baby area, fire performances, an acoustic music session tent, and more.

An adult ticket is priced at £89 and a young persons (aged 12-16 years) is priced at £62. A Thurday camping ticket is priced at £10, a child (aged 6-11 years) ticket is priced at £25, and a child under 5 ticket is priced at £1. To buy tickets, click here.
