Prince has been announced for this year's The Hop Farm Festival playing his only UK date this year.

Prince will play the 4th annual Hop Farm Music Festival topping the bill on the Sunday, as a UK exclusive with the festival extended to a third day to give fans the chance to see Prince. It will be the first time Prince has played in the UK since he broke sales records at a 21-date residency at the O2 arena in 2007, and his first ever festival appearance in the country.

Fans that have already purchased two day tickets for Hop Farm will be able to upgrade their tickets to a third day for just £40, (ticket agents will be in contact with current weekend ticket holders). Tickets will go on sale Thursday 19th May at 9am.

Supporting acts for the Sunday of the festival will be announced shortly.

Vince Power, the Festival organiser, said, "I am really excited about having Prince at the Hop Farm, we have worked hard to get the third day up and running and we hope that fans will appreciate the integrity of the bill and see it’s one of the most musically exciting this year that stands head and shoulders above a lot of other festivals."

The now three-day festival will take place from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July in Paddock Wood, Kent.

The Eagles and Morrissay will headline, plus Lou Reed, Iggy And The Stooges, Patti Smith, Newton Faulkner, Brother, Bryan Ferry, Brandon Flowers, Death Cab For Cutie, 10cc, The Human League, Ocean Colour Scene, Noisettes, Gang Of Four, Bluetones, Paris Riots, The Leisure Society, Brigid Power-Ryce, Mary Coughlan, The Walkmen, Stornoway, Erland And The Carnival, Treetop Flyers, Steve Smyth, Jimmy Barnes, City and Colour, and Transfer, with many more to follow. The festival has 4 music stages and includes comedy and campsite stages.

Hop Farm is set in 400 acres of unspoilt Kent countryside, and was once a working and now one of Kent's most popular tourist attractions in the Garden of England. This event organised by Vince Power has no VIP area, so everyone has the same experience, there's no registration, no sponsorship, and no branding.
