Four more acts have been announced for Wood, the festival celebrating music and nature, which happens in the surroundings of Braziers Park, in Oxfordshire from Friday 20th until Sunday 22nd May 2011.

The new additions are Canadian quartet Zeus, chanteuse Sarabeth Tucek, desert-western soundtrack ensemble Spindrift, and one of the first ever solo shows by The Magic Numbers bassis Michele Stodart, as she warms up to release her debut album and tour with Villagers.

Day tickets, which don't include camping, are now available priced at £30 for Friday, and £40 for Saturday or Sunday with a discount for those aged 13-17 years also available.

The organisers of the festival have teamed up with local 'cyclomaniacs' The Oxford Cycle Workshop to co-ordinate the cycle ride to Wood festival, setting off from The Magic Cafe at 2pm on Friday 20th May, and arriving at Braziers Park a few hours later. Tents will be transported separately, and those taking part will be rewarded with a picnic half way and a cold pint upon arrival.

Says Dan Harris of OCW, "Last year's ride was fantastic, with over 40 people joining us - I'm a massive fan of Wood and am really looking forward to spending the week in the countryside, enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Braziers Park, and of course the great music."

The Oxford Cycle workshop will then be sticking around to help power the festival, with one of the stages being powered completely by the festival audience using pedal generators. They are also going to be hosting workshops throughout the weekend, teaching people how to maintain bikes.

The first acts confirmed are Willy Mason, Eliza Carthy Band, Nick Cope, Thea Gilmore, Mama Rosin, Uiscedwr, and Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou will be joined at Wood by Dreaming Spires, Treetop Flyers, Super Khoumeissa, Jali Fily Cissokho, The Epstein, Katy Rose & The Cavalry Parade, The Minnikins, Goodnight Lenin, Polly & The Billets Doux, Holton's Opulent Oog, George Borowski, Owen Thomas, and Band of Hope. Expect a strong and diverse line-up of (mainly) acoustic acts performing on two stages.

Over half of the tickets are already sold. Weekend tickets are priced at £95 for adults which includes camping and all workshops. There is also a junior ticket for ages 13-17 priced priced £65, children aged 12 and under will be able to go along for free! Parking is priced at £10. Campervan tickets are priced at £40.

Wood runs entirely on renewable energy and aims to highlight green issues and hopefully promote an ecologically friendly lifestyle, with things like composting toilets, showers heated by wood-burning stove, a people powered fairground, and a solar-powered stage and dancing into the night in a bicycle powered 'discotheque'.

There's also a SuperTrucker ticket available offering entry to both Wood, and it's bigger sister Truck (Hill Farm, Steventon 22nd - 24th July) at a discounted rate of £170 for adults, and £120 for juniors (13-17). To buy a SuperTrucker ticket, click here.

Wood is also about trying new things, learning news skills, getting involved and learning something.
