Bombay Bicycle Club to headline Underage Festival

Bombay Bicycle Club will headline this year's Underage Festival which has changed the allowed age of attendees to 13 to 17 year olds.

Joining Bombay Bicycle Club who last played Underage in 2008, for this, the fifth edition of the festival, will be cyborg disco diva Janelle Monae, and Grit poppers Brother.

Other acts appearing before the young audience include Thecocknbullkid, Crystal Fighters, Devlin, Dog Is Dead, Florrie, and 16 year old Fugative.

Also confirmed for Victoria Park, Hackney, London on Friday 5th August 2011 will be Frankie And The Heartstrings, Ghost Eyes, Giggs, Labrinth, Maverick Sabre, Roll Deep, Spark, The Chapman Family, The Midnight Beast, Yaaks, and YasmIn.

Tom Baker of Eat Your Own Ears said, "We are delighted to be in our 5th year and wanted to celebrate this by opening it up to a younger audience, after gathering feedback from past festival goers whose younger friends have been disappointed they can't get tickets, we welcome 13 year olds for the first time at this year's Underage Festival. It's a great opportunity for those that love music to come and experience their first ever festival."

Underage Festival is an event for 13 to 17 year olds (strictly no over-18s; 18-year olds are welcome) and is run by London's Underage club. Musical savvy youngsters are able to attend on their own getting away from their parents and have fun and watch live acts across multiple stages.

Please note it is a condition of entry that the ticket holder consents to being searched. Searches will be conducted in the presence of two, same sex (as ticket holder), CRB checked, S.I.A. officers.
