Iggy & the Stooges, Echo and the Bunnymen, Taio Cruz, and McFly lead the first acts to be announced for new event Chester Rocks a new two day outdoor music festival taking place at Chester Racecourse on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July 2011.

The line-up for Saturday includes Taio Cruz, McFly, The Saturdays, Sugababes, The Wanted, Eliza Doolittle, and Stephen Langstaff.

On Sunday it's the turn of Iggy & the Stooges, Echo and the Bunnymen, Lightning Seeds, and Tommy Scott and the Red Scare, with many more acts still to be announced.

Richard Thomas, Chief Executive of the Chester Race Company Ltd, commented, "Chester Rocks is shaping up to be one of the main events in the North West this summer, everybody at the racecourse is very excited to be hosting the first year of the two day festival.

"The line-up for the two days has really got something for everyone from McFly and The Wanted through to the godfather of punk, Iggy Pop. The festival will be an important addition to the City's events calendar for 2011 and will bring approximately 40,000 people into Chester across the weekend."

Tickets for the Saturday or Sunday are priced at £47.50 or £85 for both days, they will go on general sale on Tuesday 1st March from 9am and eFestival will have links to buy them then.
