Funeral For A Friend, and The Blackout will headline Liverpool Sound City outdoor stage.

Liverpool Sound City are to host a stage at The Hub festival over Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May on Otterspool Promenade, in Liverpool. The line-up will headlined on Saturday by The Blackout topping a bill that includes Mayday Parade, We Are The In Crowd, Chickenhawk, Fine Young Firecrackers, The Decade, and Driven Overboard.

Sunday the stage is headlined by Funeral For A Friend with support from Young Guns, The King Blues (TBC), We Are The Ocean, Don Broco, For Eyes, In Casino Out, and Candidate23.

David Pichilingi, Liverpool Sound City's director, said, "We are over the moon to be working in partnership with Hub. We are delighted to be bringing such big artists to the Hub stage for the first time ever. Liverpool Sound City and Hub are two of the greatest events of their kind in the UK. It makes absolute sense for us to work together in this innovative way. To coincide with this we will also be launching a joint Hub and Liverpool Sound City 14+ Wristband. This will get you access to the whole Hub weekend, plus all the 14+ shows taking place at the 02 Academy."

Alongside the music BMX legend Jerry Galley, skateboarders Pete King, Chris Oliver and Rodney Clarke and pro BMX rider Bas Keep will be showcasing their skills throughout the weekend at The Hub. Boarders, skaters and BMX-ers are all encouraged to show off their skills on the gravity defying vertical ramp – the largest in Europe at 13.5 foot tall. There will also be dance offs between Bboys and Bgirls from across the globe who will battle it out to win the title of 'International Break Dance Crew'.

The Hub are also on the hunt for the city’s future music stars to help rock the Otterspool Prom venue. Local bands are being given the opportunity to win a place in the line-up – all they have to do is go to www.hubfestival.co.uk, upload a sample of their music and fill in the online application.

Acts confirmed for Liverpool Sound City include Cast, Sound Of Guns, Black Lips, The Whip, Jamie XX, Frank Turner, Steve Mason, Funeral Party, Wave Machines, SBTRKT, Spank Rock, Willy Mason, Chain & The Gang, Chad Valley, Mugstar, Handsome Furs, Colourmusic, The Sand Band, Ed Sheeran, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Mona, Three Trapped Tigers, Yuck, The Chapman Family, Veronica Falls, Lower Than Atlantis, Zeus, Niki & The Dove, Worriedaboutsatan, Publicist, Those Dancing Days, Forest Swords, Lanterns On The Lake, Alessi's Ark, Teeth, Idiot Glee, Beat Connection, The Suzukis, The Red Suns, Dustland, and The Oxygen Thieves.

There's a wristband offer of £25 which combines both The Hub Festival and all LSC 14+ shows at the O2 Academy Liverpool between 19th and 21st May, including Funeral Party, Mona and Lower Than Atlantis on Saturday and Set Your Goals on Friday.

Liverpool Sound City returns for three days and nights from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st May and is held at multiple venues and spaces in Liverpool's cultural quarter.

In total, more than 400 acts from around the world will play to 25,000 people across 30 of Liverpool's venues for four days, with the traditional series of label showcases, late night sessions and parties also happening across the city.Already over 3,500 bands have applied to play at Liverpool Sound City from all over the world.

Sound City wristbands allow entry to ALL Liverpool Sound City 2011 branded gigs on a first come first served basis subject to the individual venues capacity. Please note some gigs will be 18+ only.

Liverpool Sound City also features conferences and panels with seasoned veterans and younger voices, the commemorative John Peel World Cup, and legendary keynote speakers and special guests.
