Texas are the latest act to announce their participation in this year's The Forestry Commission's 2011 Forest Tours where bands perform each summer in spectacular woodland locations around the country.

Texas
Texas plus guests, to be announced, will be performing at Westonbirt Arboretum, Nr Tetbury, Gloucestershire on Sunday 17th July.

Since taking their name from the movie, 'Paris Texas', the band became mainstays of the UK charts with a string of hits including 'I Don't Want A Lover', 'Say What You Want', 'Black Eyed Boy', 'In Our Lifetime', 'In Demand', 'Inner Smile', 'Getaway', 'Halo', 'Carnival Girl' and 'Summer Son'. The song-writing duo of singer Sharleen Spiteri and bassist Johnny McElhone have won a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for their back catalogue.

Commenting on the show, Sharleen Spiteri said, "I love forests, they are a national treasure. We can't wait to perform all our hits at Westonbirt Arboretum this summer."

Tickets will be priced £33.50 and will go on sale at 9am this Friday, 11th February, and eFestivals will have links for you to buy them then.
